Sodra Payout and Pension Calendar for September 2026

The State Social Insurance Fund Board (Sodra) has officially released the payment schedule for social insurance benefits and pensions for September 2026. For accounting and HR professionals in Lithuania, tracking these statutory deadlines is essential for seamless data processing and accurate employee communication.

Fixed Payout Dates for September 2026
According to the approved schedule, childcare benefits will be transferred on September 15. Both unemployment social insurance benefits and early retirement pensions will be paid on September 21. Child maintenance benefits are scheduled for September 24, while pension annuities will be distributed on September 25.

Relief benefits processed through credit institutions will be transferred on September 11. For recipients who collect their funds at Lithuanian Post offices or receive them via home delivery, payments will be made between September 10 and September 26.

Floating Deadlines Based on Document Submission
Sickness and maternity benefits are paid within 17 working days from the date all necessary documents and data are provided. Paternity benefits are transferred within 5 working days after the end of paternity leave. Long-term employment benefits are paid within 10 working days following Sodra's decision.

Practical Relevance for Accounting and HR
Accounting and HR professionals must promptly submit NP-SD forms detailing employees' periods of incapacity for work, as well as 9-SD forms for paternity or childcare leaves. The 17-working-day processing period for sickness and maternity benefits begins only after the employer has successfully submitted all required data to Sodra.

Furthermore, when terminating employment contracts under Article 57 of the Lithuanian Labor Code, employers should inform the departing employees that the long-term employment benefit will be paid within 10 working days of Sodra's decision, and September's unemployment benefits will be transferred on September 21.
