Lithuanian Register of Legal Entities Extracts Now Issued Automatically in One Minute

The Lithuanian State Enterprise Centre of Registers has completed system updates and launched automated issuance of certified electronic extracts (ESI) from the Register of Legal Entities. The service follows Resolution No. 601 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania (adopted on 12 August 2026, entered into force on 24 August 2026), which amended clause 137 of the Regulations of the Register of Legal Entities. On 30 August 2026, the Centre of Registers officially confirmed full deployment.

The updated procedure eliminates manual signing by registry officials, replacing it with the Centre of Registers' qualified electronic seal. As a result, processing time in the self-service portal has decreased from several business days to approximately one minute.

Newly registered legal entities, branches, and representative offices receive their first ESI once free of charge, without submitting a separate application. Subsequent extracts can be ordered by company directors or authorized representatives through the Centre of Registers self-service portal at the statutory fee of EUR 1.92. Once payment is confirmed, the document and access key are generated within 1–2 minutes, made available in the account, and sent to specified contact addresses.

A certified electronic extract confirms the official registration of an entity and displays all current registry data. The document remains valid in the digital environment until any corporate data is altered in the register. It holds the same legal standing and prima facie evidentiary value as a physical paper document. Under current regulations, third parties—including commercial banks, notaries, public procurement bodies, and state institutions—are not permitted to demand paper extracts once provided with an access key or an electronically sealed file.

When registering corporate changes (such as appointing a new director, amending articles of association, or changing registered seat addresses), companies should place an ESI order only after receiving confirmation that the new data has been formally registered, ensuring the extract reflects the updated status.
